Crafted Sleep is a new brand in 2022 and has a full line-up of mattresses. They are offering hybrid and foam options from 8-14 inches thick. They are made in the USA and seem to be priced very well. With all queens being under $1000 and several under $699.
They have aggressive pricing, especially on the thicker hybrid models. The focus for today is the 14" 1 sided mattress that uses gel memory foam for just $729 as of June 2022. Most mattresses in this thickness range for established online brands tend to be over $1000-1500. Find out below if the quality is still there considering it is priced cheap.

Today we will be focusing on the Crafted 14 inch 1-Sided mattress. The brand offers a variety of firmness levels to accommodate different body types and sleeping styles.
The 14" 1 sided mattress is a softer medium feel. When sleeping on this mattress we found it to be very good for pressure relief with a nice soft feel. We also felt that it had good support although it was on the softer side. Overall if you are seeking a medium soft feel and sleep on your side a lot you will love the feel of this mattress.
We give the Crafted 14 inch an exceptional 4.8/5 out of 5 for comfort and feel.

Motion Reduction
This model and all of the other Crafted hybrids use a pocketed coil system of independent coils which help reduce motion transfer to your partner. In our experience this model performed very well in this area. Motion was not an issue. I would imagine the foam models to be even better as foam mattresses tend to absorb even more motion.

Off Gassing
As the Crafted mattress is open and starts expanding quickly you will only notice a slight “new mattress” smell. “Off-Gassing” to me is a slightly misleading term, because no matter what brand you are looking at, they are going to have a smell. This brand uses Certi-PUR foams as well as water-based glues which are safer and off gas less.
Natural and organic mattresses often times have the strongest smell, even though people associate them with no gassing. A smell is normal and no matter what brand you buy there will be some smell. I associate it with a new car or a new shoe smell. In most cases the smell will either be gone or very faint within 12-36 hours. I would recommend using a mattress protector; so, once the mattress airs out you should apply your protector under your sheets, and by then there should barely be any smell at all.
We gave the Crafted a 4.9 out of 5 for off-gassing.

Temperature
This mattress has so many incorporated layers that perform multiple different functions – and one of those is a infused gel layer of memory foam that is specifically designed to work in conjunction with the stretch knit cover. Traditionally memory foam mattresses do tend to get a bit heated during the night – but since this is a hybrid and gel infused it manages to filter away most of the heat for you, leaving you with a “cool side of the pillow” feeling to your bed.
Also this model has a quilting foam incorporated in the cover. This type of foam does not trap heat at all and is a nice separation from the gel memory foam to further prevent the memory foam of over heating.
We gave the Crafted Sleep a 4.82 out of 5 for sleeping temperature.

Edge Support
Crafted hybrids all use a coil unit that has stronger coils on the outside 3 coil rows. These coils provide a stronger edge and thus better edge support. We found that when laying down on the edge of the mattress you do not roll off the mattress. This ensures you get the most out of the space allowed by your mattress.
Sitting on the edge it sunk in kind of far but it worked as it should in the sleeping positions.
We scored the Crafted a 4.6 out of 5 for edge support.

Trial & Warranty
All of the online brands provide plenty of time for you to decide if the mattress will work for you. Crafted is no different. They offer 120 nights to test the mattress home and if you do not like it, you can do an exchange with them or a return for free.
They have a 15 year non-prorated warranty. This is covered in full for 15 years. This is a good warranty as many brands or store brands are prorated and only covered in full for part of their warranty.

Overall Value & Recommendation
Overall, we are very impressed with this mattress. Although I have not had the other models in house yet, we are very impressed with the pricing that they are offering for mattresses that are USA made and similar to other brands but for a lot less. Since it is a newer brand maybe prices will go up as other popular brands have throughout the years. But for now at least they are offering a very good bargain and the mattresses seem to be built very well at the same time. I would recommend this specific model to anyone seeking a medium-soft feel that sleeps in all positions but especially their side.
So far in 2022 we are giving this brand recognition as the Best New Brand/Best Value Brand. Best Mattress for side sleepers on a budget.
