The mattress has latex-like foam that gives the mattress a soft but firm feel. Deeper into the mattress, the memory foam used gives the mattress the contouring effect, the mattress contours to the body of the sleeper but has a quicker bounce back effect. The firmness level of the mattress is above medium average, different sleepers rated the firmness level to be above 7/10.
The mattress is good for stomach and back sleepers; it relieves any pressure you might have on your front side while sleeping for stomach sleepers, while it does a nice job of conforming to the curves of your body and is slightly firmer overall for back sleepers. However, the mattress is too firm for side sleepers, especially the lightweight side sleepers, the heavyweight side sleepers also might push through the comfort layers and hit the firmer layers beneath them, and they would thus think the mattress is a little too firm. Average weight side sleepers can enjoy the firmness of the mattress.
The mattress offers a soft fell and contours to the body of the sleepers but does not sink in, it provides proper support for sleepers and allows them to sleep on the mattress rather than sleep in, this mattress is good for sleepers that have multiple sleeping position as they can easily turn and change position while sleeping with no difficulty.

Delivery & Setup
Regardless of size, all Casper mattresses ship in their standard box of 19” x 19” x 42”. The total weight of the box ranges from 44 pounds to 110 pounds depending on the size of the mattress. Delivery is done to the states in the U.S and Canada, standard delivery fee is free for all customers in the U.S and Canada. UPS are in charge of making deliveries to addresses in the U.S. However, they do not provide services like in-home mattress assembly and packaging, you will have to set up the mattress yourself. UPS make delivery within 2 to 5 working days after purchase has been made depending on the distance of your address.
White Glover delivery service is available for customers nationwide, they provide extra services like in-home mattress assemble and old mattress removal. There is additional charge for these services.

Motion Reduction
A restless sleep partner can be a cause for concern, if you are sleeping on a mattress that has poor motion isolation. Especially, if you are the type that wakes up at any slight disturbance, you will not enjoy your sleep, as you will be disturbed by every movement your sleep partner make. Motion isolation helps sleepers to sleep through the constant turning and waking up of sleep partners, it is an important feature in a mattress.
Casper mattress has good motion isolation thanks to the memory foam used in the mattress. Memory foam are very good type of foam that isolates motion to the bare minimum on a mattress. Casper does very well on this aspect as it allows sleepers to enjoy their sleep without any disruption or disturbance from their sleeping partners.

Off Gassing
Personally I feel off gassing is more of a general thing among mattresses. You will hardly find a mattress that doesn’t off gas. Depending on the type of materials used in making the mattress, the smell may be faint or pungent and it may or may not last long. Some people complain mattresses that were made using natural materials off gas for long, while some people object. The bottom line is most mattresses off gas, but the most important thing is how long it takes before the smell dissipates.
Casper mattress doesn’t off gas for long, customers reported moderate off gassing. After collecting the mattress, take it to the room you wish to use it in and open it. It will take a while to fully expand and it will take almost the same time for the smell to dissipate. Proper ventilation will quicken the time and use of mattress protector will take care of the faint smell that may remain afterwards.

Temperature
Despite having memory foam that is known to retain heat, the Casper mattress sleeps cool. Temperature regulation is a feature customers look out for, some sleepers find it hard to sleep in a mattress that retains heat. The latex-like foam in the mattress overshadows the heat retaining characteristics of the memory foam, it dissipates the heat produced by the memory foam.

The zoned support did a good job of providing support at the edge of the mattress, and it makes sleeper feel secure when sleeping at the edge as they would have felt if they were sleeping in the center of the mattress. Although the edge support is not as good as some other mattresses, it is manageable.

Materials
The type of materials used by companies during construction of a mattress will determine how it will function, the materials are not all perfect as they all have flaws. For example, the memory foam retains heat. A good company will know how to make use of each of the material’s strength to compliment the other one, which is what makes a good mattress. Different materials are used to produce a mattress that can provide comfort and support, Casper mattress is that type of mattress, looking at the type of materials used, you will appreciate the great length the company went to produce a mattress that will serve different type of sleepers.

The cover is a lightweight premium fabric. It’s pretty stretchy and I find it to be breathable, it helps to regulate the airflow in the mattress. It is of high-quality overall, it is thick but soft and snaps back into place quickly, which means it won’t bunch up when you move around at night, giving sleepers more comfort and ease of rolling on the mattress. I should also note that it has a zipper, so you can unzip and remove it to wash it.

The top or comfort layer is 1.5 inches of a specialty polyfoam the company calls comfort foam. It is latex-like as it is similar to latex foam, the difference being it is not naturally made. Similar to latex foam, it provides comfort with a bit of firmness. It has a quicker bounce back response, it allows sleepers to sink in the mattress but not too deep as memory foam, it is breathable and regulates flow of air in the mattress. It helps the mattress to sleep cool and counters the heat retaining characteristics of the memory foam.

The contour layer is 1.5 inches of 3.5 lb. density memory foam. This layer allows the mattress to conform well to the curves of your body and provides good pressure relief, it helps to relieve pain the heavy parts of the body like the hips and shoulder. The memory foam although it retains heat is a good type of foam, it is responsible for the motion isolation in the mattress.

The transition layer is 1.5 inches of polyfoam with a 2.5 lb. density. This is the zoned layer that provides edge support to the mattress. It is a transition layer to help people go from the comfort layers to the support layer more smoothly. It’s built with two types of durable polyfoam, with the softer variation located at the ends of the bed and the firmer one situated in the center. It is similar to the latex-like foam, it has a quicker bounce back response, and it is good for providing both comfort and support that is why it is used as a transition layer. Sleepers won’t feel the difference in the comfort feel as they sleep on the mattress and go deep into the mattress.

The base layer is 5 inches of polyfoam with a 1.8 lb. density. This is fairly standard base foam that you will see in a lot of other bed-in-a-box mattresses. It helps to give the mattress its structure.

Trial & Warranty
Trial period for customers is an opportunity to try out a product without the fear of losing their money in the process. Customers feel more at ease when they can return the product they purchase if it is not to their liking. Casper mattress offers a 100-night sleep trial, a customer can return the mattress at any point during this trial period regardless of the number of days he/she has used the mattress. During this trial period, if you are not satisfied with the mattress, you can return the mattress and receive a full refund including shipping fees, incredible! Casper will be responsible for the returning of the mattress, the mattress may be donated to charity or recycled.
Casper offers a 10-year nonporated warranty period. The warranty period starts from the day of the mattress purchase. The company will replace or repair any defective mattress during this period. However, the company will only cover the fees of returning a defective mattress back to their company for replacing or repair, but the customer will take care of the delivery fee when returning the replaced or repaired mattress. Customers will also have to pay extra if the mattress replaced is an upgraded model of the defective one, the warranty coverage of a repaired mattress continues but if it was replaced, the warranty will start all over from the day the upgrade is made.
For customers to benefit from warranty coverage of the Casper mattress, they must abide by the terms and condition of the company, for example, they must use the mattress on an appropriate foundation. The warranty will not cover the following:

Normal increase in the softness’ of the comfort layer that does not affect its ability to alleviate pressure.

Replacements or repairs due to changes in the owner’s sleep preferences.

Overall Value & Recommendation
Casper mattress is an ideal type of mattress that is suitable for more than one sleeping position, the trial period has no restriction and the warranty period is long enough for a customer to enjoy the mattress for a long time. Although it does not have an excellent edge support, it still supports sleepers at the edge regardless. It is constructed in a way it has the good characteristics of memory foam and latex-like foam without the flaws. It provides pressure relief to sleepers without the feeling of getting stuck, it is very good for sex as it has a good bounce back response. It is not exactly organic but it is eco-friendly, the foams used are all Certi-Pur certified (meaning no harmful or toxic chemical was used in making the mattress)
The price is considerably within the average price of other types of mattress that are similar to it.
